MY SPECIAL DAY!!!!!!

There’s one thing I missed out on blogging about. It’s about my 20th birthday, though it’s been more than a month now, it’s too late to talk about it. But it’s something so close to my heart that I can’t miss out onto that!

Never had thought my 20th birthday would be so beautiful! It started early in the morning when Mom as well as Dad came together to wake me up and wish me a very happy birthday! I was surprised, but not much. Then Mom said, “look Bhai (sankoobaba) has something

special done up for you!” I was feeling very lazy, and was just calling out for my brother to show that whatever “special” he has to show, and rolling on my bed, I saw out of the door of my room, there were papers pasted allover. I didn’t get what it was, and I stood up, and went closer to realize, that there are 20 such papers, stuck all over!

Each paper had been numbered, as 1, 2…20 and movie names, personalized according to my life were written on each, example, sammy diaries, sammy’s day out, sammy and the goblet of coffee, etc. As I went further, on the television, a collage, of our pictures and my qualities was displayed, and on his cell phone he was playing happy birthday song. He then handed me something, I opened it and found a nice purse like thing, and a notepad, where all my favourite Hollywood stars and Bollywood stars were wishing me happy birthday, by saying their movie dialogues. It’s a bit complicated to explain, but whatever it was, it was super-awesome!

This was the best surprise ever, and I really did not feel like celebrating any further, that much was enough for me! I went to college after that, and was a bit disappointed, as my friends had bunked, and there was hardly anyone to wish me. But after that, my best Friend Shraddha met me in college after lectures, and gave me a SURPRISE! She gave me a poster made out of her, mine and our photos and a beautiful poem in Marathi written on “our friendship!” It was lovely! I came home, as my close buddies were coming over for lunch.

After enough of waiting, they finally came; they also got a cake for me! After cutting of cake, etc. we started with our lunch. After a heavy lunch and conversations, and opening of gifts! We went through all my childhood pictures. And after enough of conversations, fun, we started playing “raja, rani chor police” – the chit game! Had fun while playing that! Then I made tea and coffee for my friends, and we got ready, and left! We went to Thane, “Talaopali” and did boating, had nice conversations again. Then we had my favorite ice-cream in a small parlour in Thane, “JANASEVA”, it’s not the plush ice-cream parlor types, it’s like a small shack,is way too old, now run by the grandson of the owner, but gives wonderful natural fruit, hand-churned ice-cream! Yum!

Then I bid all my friends a good bye and then went with my cousin, she gifted me a kurta! After all this, I finally came home, and had a nice family dinner, and returned to my room to gaze into the day again! That might be my best birthday in recent years!

I am really really thankful to all the people involved in making it a special day for me! This was a day, where after years I felt I’m a kid again, and being pampered, and just like a cat all I wished to do was ‘purr’ in the pleasure, I love you all for making me feel this! You have given me a wonderful reminiscence. Thanks again!

*****HAPPY NEW YEAR*****

Wish You All Readers a Very Happy New Year. It feels great when I come to know that there are readers of my blog. Thanks a lot to everyone who reads my blog, it feels appreciated.

Personally I don’t think that 1st Jan is a beginning of a New Year, because, a new year for me has always been in June (academic New Year) or else 27th November (my birthday). But I would like to take this day as a reason to jot down all of those important things I try to remind myself everyday, things which might improve me! Basically, my New Year Resolutions are as follows:

· I’ll sleep late…..( because even if I sleep early, I’ll still get up late, hence wasting my 50% day in sleeping)

· I’ll not publish pessimistic poems (people start looking at me with pity)

· I’ll try my best to improve my concentration (Distracted is my second name)

· I’ll try my best to conserve water. (water is life)

· I’ll try my best to contribute towards improving environmental conditions, if not improve I’ll avoid further damage. (SAVE EARTH…GO GREEN!)

· I’ll remind myself, I’m not in this world to change people, I can give suggestions not advises. (this is to avoid making further enemies)

· I’ll avoid speaking when I’m angry or frustrated! (Or else the result will be explosive as always!)

· I’ll remind myself, be honest and don’t hide things from your best friends, because, even your worst mistake will be forgiven by them! (After all, they Love you!)

· While watching television when there are no movies or nothing else better to watch, I won’t surf channels mindlessly! (It wastes the remaining 50% of my day!)

· I’ll improve my knowledge about Indian Mythology. (It’s better than last year, but still needs help!)

· I’ll try to be more planned. (I need to take this one seriously!)

· I’ll try…er…. I have to understand, to sort out my priorities! (No trying here!)

· I’ll learn to say “NO”, when I can’t really do a thing. (kya karu ke mujhe na kehna nahi ata –a song by Shaan, suits me perfectly!)

· I’ll try to improve my vocabulary of English as well as Marathi. (Hm, not much difficult! >>I guess!)

· I’ll improve on my “spoken English” (which is weakened due to reduced English conversations!)

· I’ll improve my political knowledge (basically my general knowledge).

· I’ll smile for no reason! (Most favorite resolution!)

· And finally! I’ll say the following prayer everyday,

Dear God,

Give me the courage to accept situations

I can’t change.

The Power to change,

Situations I can.

The ability to tell the,

Difference between these two situations.

This happy little girl!..whom I met....

This is the story of a little girl I met! She was happy! I asked her the reason. She started telling me the reason of why she was happy!

She replied I don’t know I was asleep for a long time, and suddenly I was woken up! And what do you think woke her up? Two souls, a bit lost, a bit confused, not knowing why they were hurt! In their presence even though she was sleeping, she could listen to voices unheard, felt something untouched! What was it, she doesn’t know, all she knows that it woke her up!

But why was she sleeping, for so long? Because she was hurt, not once, twice but many times, the bruises were strong, and she doesn’t remember when she fell asleep, but, she’d been sleeping since. But now that she’s woken up, she lived some wonderful moments, spent some wonderful time, connected to wonderful people and started living a happy life. The only problem with this life was, in front of those voices and feelings, she was vulnerable, and an emotional fool, the chatterbox unknowingly used to go quiet, and at some times, she really was dependent on them, those voices and those feelings! And the best part of all of that was, the voices read her unsaid thoughts, and her say-it-all eyes. This made her even weaker, because, all these years she was asleep, she was never something anybody could understand, but now that they could solve the quest, she really thought they deserve her love. She showered them with love, unconditional, limitless, and true! She did her best to keep them happy! They made her happy! Loving is all about giving, without expecting anything in return, that is what she did, and all of this kept her happy! Very, very happy!

But I told her to be honest, sometimes, something must have happened in her life! Something against her wishes, hopes and dreams! She hesitated a bit at first, but finally replied, those voices have surely woken me up, surely made me beautiful, but I’m not sure of how long they’ll be here, and now that I’m used to it, will I have to go to sleep again to overcome the pain of their loss? This is the thing that troubles her occasionally.

But with thinking for some more time, she said. No, not this time, she said. She’s sure! Their hearts are connected; the voices and the feelings are still connected even though their destinies are not. She knows, they might not be there, always, but when she’ll need them they’ll be there. She knows they love her and will love her forever. And she really need not sleep now, rather she just can't sleep now, because, the light of the memories, will keep her awake!

By the way did I tell you where I met her, I met her on the path of introspection!

Psuedo-busy!!!!!

This might be the longest time I haven’t posted anything. Two months!!! By far the largest gap! What was I doing all these days? Looking back was I busy or was I just “PSEUDO-BUSY” i.e. just appearing to be busy but not exactly busy?!

I might say I was busy, but not as busy as it may seem. I could have managed to write a post, but surprisingly almost every evening I used to come home, not in a mood to turn on the pc, and whenever I did I just could not come up with anything to write about. But as I said I was a bit busy, occasionally, on more than one occasion.

I’m trying to rack my brains, in trying to remember chronologically what all kept me “BUSY”. Anyways, the order does not matter, I’d participated in an inter-collegiate competition for skit, but as luck wasn’t in our favour, we were third as far as the ranking goes, but there wasn’t a third prize, and we had to return with a participation certificate. Nonetheless the skit based on “The powerpuff girls” theme talking about nutrition was a hit and loved by many, including me, who was quite a bit pessimistic about the whole thing. The credit goes to all those who by someway or the other helped by giving their ideas, and whatever they can give, most importantly brain-power and time.

I’ve been given a place in the core team of a very important project of our college’s N.S.S. unit; I was also a bit busy in attending meetings, making plans and making a power-point presentation related to the project. Here I would like to thank our Sir for giving me the opportunity of being in such an important team, and also the seniors and the colleagues in this team, for being, bearing and co-operating with me. I would also like to thank whatever it was, a supernatural force, or luck or that “something” which made Sir to include my name in this team.

Some of my time was also gone in making the attachment report of the industrial training I did in food industries as a part of my curriculum. Though it was hectic and all! I am happy with the outcome.

Other things which kept me caught up were, watching “nishana daava angatha”, “Kaminey”, visiting Pune, cooking food, attending two fairs over the weekend, Bandra Mt. Mary fair which I visited this thrusday and the thane, Tembhi-naka fair which I attended just yesterday. I’ve also given my name as a volunteer for “AnandwanSnehi Mandal”. But behind all these small things, the major reason for not writing a post would be my laziness and also lack of ideas at the “right time” so making me look a lot busier than I actually was, so I say, that I was “PSEUDO-BUSY”!!!

HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY♥°*”˜˜”*°♥

Oh! I’ve talked about friends and friendship in my last post. But here today too I’ll speak about friends, friendship and related matters! You aren’t’ allowed to wonder why?! Of course it’s 2nd august, the first Sunday of august, it’s “The Friendship Day”.

Talking of friendship day, obviously it’s everywhere, newspapers, television, radio, internet, everywhere, some people think it’s a waste of time and usually meant for good commercial business of gift shops and florists. And I say, “does it matter?!” If you say you can do anything for your friend, why would you mind spending some mere bucks, for some satin ribbons? But I have nothing personal against people who don’t celebrate it; it’s a democratic country after all!

The statement, ‘it’s everywhere, in papers’ reminds me of one thing I can’t stop myself from discussing about, it is about a small thing I read in this Thursday’s Hindustan Times supplement CafĂ©, in the celebrity column, Akshay Kumar stated that, friendship isn’t a reason for getting your things done or getting favours, it’s a reason for doing things for someone without expecting anything in return. I completely agree with the statement and totally love it!

He also mentioned friendship is unconditional love, and this fact too cannot be denied. Friends are not those with whom you always have a blast, friends are those with whom, even though you talk nothing, you feel like you’ve emptied your heart. It’s the connection when you are missing your friend and the person suddenly gives you a missed call or sends you a message saying he/she is missing you. A friend is indeed not a friend in need, friend is a friend indeed even when not in need.

A friend need not be perfect, rather can never be, because nobody is perfect, it just matters how you are perfect with each other. A friend may not be how you always wanted a friend to be, he/she might be completely opposite, but still you love them, and with love that is unconditional! It’s weird how you feel their happiness, their pain, and also their confusion. But this is how it is meant to be. They make many many mistakes, you feel like killing them, but when you see their silly innocent faces, you just decide to forgive them. After all not talking to them is more of a punishment to you rather than them.

Losing them and their trust is the biggest fear! But why think of things which can’t ever happen. Cherish memories that have gone by, live in the present and create more memories so that in future you can look back at this moment and cherish again.

I would love to end this post by thanking all my friends for making me feel that I am special for them. And I love you all! This reminds me of the song “Thank You” by Dido, which goes as follows,

I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life
Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life

Flashback!!!!!

Today is 19th of July, and suddenly I realized tomorrow is my friend Parnavi’s birthday, due to which suddenly it struck me, this day last year, I was at “Cotton Green”, at Parnavi’s home, celebrating her birthday, rather celebrating our friendship.

I was just taking a look at the pictures, and memories flashed through my memory, I read the post posted on 27th July and I went into a trance…remembering all of that is just wonderful.

That would be one of those last moments when all of us had enjoyed together through and through. I am not crying, now, that we don’t have any such time together. I just want to thank all of you for giving me such memories. Whatever reasons our friendship didn’t work out, is not important. The thing that matters most right now is at least I’ve memories, which can bring a smile onto my face, no matter what!

Thanks again to all of you, thanks for all of it!!!
